THE LAST SONG

The Last Song was a film that was much better than I anticipated it would be. The Last Song is a very touching film starring Miley Cyrus as the character Ronnie, a name short for Veronica.

In The Last Song the movie, Ronnie has a younger brother named Jonah. Ronnie is rebellious because her parents have divorced.

In the movie, The Last Song, Ronnie’s mother is a movie character played by the actress Kelly Preston. Ronnie’s mother is engaged to be married to a new man.

In The Last Song the movie, the characters Ronnie and Jonah are dropped off by their mother to spend the summer with their father at his house on the beach.

• Ronnie’s cold heartedness is warmed a little when she meets a guy played by Liam Hemsworth and begins to fall in love.
• At a pivotal point in the film, The Last Song, he disappoints her greatly though.
• Once again Ronnie is very angry.

In The Last Song the movie, the character Ronnie is very musically talented and has a love for music that includes playing the piano. She has even been accepted to the elite and highly selective performing arts school Juilliard in New York City.

Ronnie is dismissive about her talents however in large part due to the fact that she is upset with her father and relishes the idea of going against his wishes in most things.

He is a gifted musician as well and would love for Ronnie’s dream for herself to coincide with his dream for her.

For much of the time, Ronnie is very rude to her father who is played by actor Greg Kinnear.

Their being unable to get along is heartbreaking to him.

Nevertheless Ronnie soon regrets her actions when she learns that her father is very ill. This crisis draws them closer together and Ronnie is very remorseful.

The Last Song the movie is one of the films that I did not know much about before watching it and that is my favorite way to view a film. I had not read the book on which it was based and had no particular expectations or knowledge about what would happen next in the scenes.

In The Last Song the movie, I also enjoyed the beautiful scenery (a beach setting) as well as the movie theme music.

Along with the movie trailer for The Last Song, the music video for Miley Cyrus’ When I Look at You is posted below. A lovely grand piano is used throughout the music video against the backdrop of natural scenes. The opening instrumental sequence for the song is really nice.

My favorite lyrics of the song are the opening line “Everybody needs inspiration” as well as “there is no guarantee that this life is easy.” It’s a beautiful song with a nice melody.

I rate the movie The Last Song 3.5/5 stars
